Thanks for that information because I thought it was more adult when I read it. I really did like The Adoration of Jenna Fox, which is YA here in the U.S., though I don't think it really reads as YA.

I've done this meme as well, here's the link if your interested:

http://savvyverseandwit.blogspot.com/2009/04/bookish-meme.htmlSerenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04745809545249574387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2463216142910370346.post-695561127248965672009-04-04T11:08:00.000-05:002009-04-04T11:08:00.000-05:00"But alone, in the wee hours when it's just me and..."But alone, in the wee hours when it's just me and the moon is extra special."

What a great line!Eileenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11058705381647529328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2463216142910370346.post-3374268206941012672009-04-04T11:03:00.000-05:002009-04-04T11:03:00.000-05:00Wow, you read a ton! I've heard that we're in a "golden age" for YA fiction right now, but I prefer to read about, like you said, adults in adult situations. A lot of the book bloggers I read occasionally cover YA lit, but none of it interests me.

I liked your answer to #5. I'm going on sixty, I feel no need to read fiction that kids can relate to. And The Book Thief was written, published and read by me as adult literature. I read it when it first came out in Australia and was nominated for literature awards. When Knopf later bought the American rights they decided to market it in the US as YA to make money in both markets. It's not what the writer originally intended. Thank you for your kind offer though. If I ever have reason to read something in the YA genre I'll know who to ask.Sandrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06265301061583417768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2463216142910370346.post-90718474540679141862009-04-04T05:23:00.000-05:002009-04-04T05:23:00.000-05:00Sandra, you list The Book Thief. Very different from when I was actually a teen.

I do understand that there are some genres that don't interest readers. If you're ever interested, do let me know. I can think of so many titles that are enjoyed by adult readers.susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14924982664582970754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2463216142910370346.post-88773526185802387492009-04-04T02:38:00.000-05:002009-04-04T02:38:00.000-05:00I absolutely agree with your time of day ... there...I absolutely agree with your time of day ... there's just something about being alone in the quiet, reading in the middle of the night ... I actually tend to finish books around 3 or 4 am because I decide one night that I just want to get through the last 100 or 200 pages or whatever is remaining. I never regret doing it either.Kristen M.https://www.blogger.com/profile/02335598194501733541noreply@blogger.com
