Library Loot

Details from Eva at A Striped Arm Chair.

This weeks borrowed books:

That's it, still working on last week's batch. I did finish The Madonnas of Leningrad***** by Debra Dean, Hannah's Dream**** by Diane Hammond, The Rabbi's Cat 2***+ by Joann Sfar, and We Need to Talk About Kevin***** by Lionel Shriver since the last week's Library Loot. Short reviews of the last three will be posted in my Sunday Salon. See last Sunday's Salon for my views on The Madonnas of Leningrad. The stars pretty well say it though if you're like me and don't want to know any details about a story before you read it. Five stars are must reads, trust me.

If you've stumbled on this post by accident, get thee to a library.

  1. I have a copy of The Sister in my TBR collection and am looking forward to reading that one. I look forward to reading your thoughts on it.

  3. The Madonnas of Leningrad is on my TBR list for this year because I've only heard good things about it.

  4. Looks like a great list of books you got from the library. Your post reminded me I got to get to the library today and pick up some books I have waiting on me. Hope you have a wonderful day.

  7. I love the Library Loot idea but I don't think I could do it. I bring home too many to post! Maybe I could post a select few of the ones I bring home.

  8. That's a great set of books. I'd particularly recommend "The Sister".

  9. I've been eyeing *The Sister*, but haven't picked it up yet; I'd like to know what you think of it.

*Madonnas of Leningrad* is a must read, I agree! I read it several months ago, but haven't written a review yet. I have a few other books waiting for me, too ... books that I LOVED, but am having a hard time wrapping that up into the written word (*Who By Fire* is still in that amazing-but-not-yet-reviewed pile)

  10. Ireally enjoyed We need to talk about Kevin. Whenever I leave the library I come home with twice as many books as I planned on checking out in the first place. But I certainly get my $$$ worth out of the library card :)
