This week's loot:
The City of Dreaming Books by Walter Moers
I suspect this is outside my comfort zone but it's about books so I couldn't resist.
A Father's Affair by Karel Van Loon
This one is about a father who finds out after his wife dies that he's always been sterile. He wants to know who fathered his thirteen year old son whom he loves very much. How could I not be interested in that premise?
Moloka'i by Alan Brennert
Another about leprosy (albeit a fiction) and those who were exiled to Molokai in Hawaii. I visited the colony there once.
What did you do this week to keep a librarian working?
Nothing I know there, but they so all look interesting. Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteAll three of these books look very good. I've added them to my list of books to take a closer look at.
ReplyDeleteI have heard a lot of good things about Molokai. I'm putting it on my wish list and I love the cover of City of Dreaming Books. Kind of reminds me of my TBR shelves.

I read Maloka'i last year and it was really captivating. I hope you enjoy it! A Father's Affair looks really interesting. Intriguing title considering the woman is the one that had the supposed affair.
ReplyDeleteWow what great loot and very petty covers.
ReplyDeleteA good friend of mine read Moloka'i by Alan Brennert. She said she really enjoyed it. It's on my tbr pile.
