Herding Cats Challenge II

Hosted by Renay at Let's Get Literate.

April 1 - December 31st, 2009

My list of five books read in 2007, 2008, or 2009 that I loved:

1.Village of Stone by Xiaolu Guo
2.The Lizard by Karen Connelly
3.Sorry by Gail Jones

My choices of others' selections to read with completed books highlighted or linked to reviews:

1.The Housekeeper and the Professor by Yoko Ogawa
2.The Library at Night by Alberto Manguel
3.Ten Cents A Dance by Christine Fletcher
4.Monkey Beach by Eden Robinson
5.To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
6. Water For Elephants by Sarah Gruen

I welcome comments and opinions on any of these books, or reading recommendations of good literary fiction.

  1. I'm glad to see you liked The Swallows of Kabul. I'm saving it for Dewey's Read-a-thon this month (will be reading slim books, lol). I also just got a copy of The Library at Night the other day.. it looks really wonderful, with all the photos and such. Happy reading!

  3. I haven't read any of the books from your favorites book, sad to say. The Swallows of Kabul is on my TBR shelf. I read The Attack by the same author a couple of years ago and really liked it.

I haven't decided yet what books to read for this challenge. I should probably take a look at the list soon and see!
