Hosted by Molly at My Cozy Book Nook.

May 22 - September 7, 2009

I have chosen to be a Globe Trotter and travel through 6 books to places I would like to visit by reading and reviewing them. My itinerary with completed trips highlighted or linked to reviews:

1.The Jewel Trader of Pegu***** by Jeffrey Hantover (Burma in 1598)
2.Little Bee***** by Chris Cleave (Nigeria and London, England)
3.Becoming Abigail***** by Chris Abani (Nigeria and London)
4.A Mercy****+ by Toni Morrison (Virginia, USA 1670s)
5.No Such Creature***+ by Giles Blunt (road trip across US to California)
6.Molly Fox's Birthday**** by Deirdre Madden (Dublin, Ireland)
7.Love in the Time of Cholera**** by Gabriel Garcia Marquez (
Columbia, South America with a side trip up the Amazon River)
8.Possession***** by A.S. Byatt (modern England and Victorian England)
9.The Prospector***** by J.M.G. Le Clezio (Island of Mauritania and on a ship through other islands of the Indian Ocean, as well as England and France during World War I
10.The Accordionist's Son**** by Bernardo Atxaga (A horse ranch in Basque Spain to California between 1933-1976)
11.Carpentaria**** by Alexis Wright (With the Aboriginals in Northwestern Australia)
12.Three Men in a Boat***+ by Jerome K. Jerome (hilarious adventure boating up the Thames and camping out for two weeks)

I had a lot of fun doing this challenge and I could have done more. But I have to call it fiinished so that I can focus on all my other challenges. Thank you Molly for all the work you do.

  1. What a great selection of books for this challenge! Possession and Love in the Time of Cholera are also on my TBR list.
