Product Description
"Psychiatrist Andrew Marlowe, devoted to his profession and the painting hobby he loves, has a solitary but ordered life. When renowned painter Robert Oliver attacks a canvas in the National Gallery of Art and becomes his patient, Marlow finds that order destroyed. Desperate to understand the secret that torments the genius, he embarks on a journey that leads him into the lives of the women closest to Oliver and a tragedy at the heart of French Impressionism.
Kostova's masterful new novel travels from American cities to the coast of Normandy, from the late 19th century to the late 20th, from young love to last love. The Swan Thieves is a story of obsession, history's losses, and the power of art to preserve human hope."
About the Author Elizabeth Kostova is the author of the international bestseller The Historian. She graduated from Yale and holds an MFA from the University of Michigan, where she won the Hopwood Award for the Novel-in-Progress.
I thought I recognised the author's name and then you mentioned The Historian. This book sounds very interesting and the cover is absolutely beautiful.

ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for this one, too! The author is going to be at a little trade show near me next month and I'm hoping to score a copy of this then!

ReplyDeleteThis sounds really good - I'll have to put it on my list.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds fantastic. I gobbled up The Historian, even though I usually steer way clear of vampire books. This one is going on my Christmas wish list.
ReplyDeleteI really, really need to be on the lookout for this book. I love reading about the power of art and I also like Kostova so I think it'll be a great combination.
