  6. The JOHN BANVILLE, of course..and much has been said regarding the Sebastian Faulks (though i'll believe the hype after i've read the book)..and, irony of ironies..i just got the first Simon Serrailler title (The Various Haunts of Men) today....can we play the X-Files theme now???

  7. Interesting books to wait for :) I liked all the covers of the books you have mentioned. They are beautiful! Nice to know that the new John Banville book 'The Infinities' is coming out soon. He writes such beautiful prose! Looking forward to it.

  11. I want to read the Jon Mcgregor as well, but the one I am DYING to read is the new Olga Grushin. I loved, loved, loved her first novel and this one also sounds similar to another Russian novel I read last year, The Queue by Vladimir Sorokin. So I can't wait to get my hands on The Line (and I didn't know it had an alternate title of The Concert Ticket, thanks for the heads up!)

  12. I looked long and hard at The Long Song on Amazon Vine today and then finally decided against it and chose a different book instead. I just need to keep reminding myself that just because I pick one book, that doesn't mean that those I do NOT choose cease to exist ;-)
