  1. Thanks for this post! It was nice reading it. I will add some of the books from the above list to my 'TBR' list. It will be nice to discover new Canadian authors.

Is the Governor General's Award given for only Canadian authors or covers a broader range of writers whose books get published in Canada?

  2. Thanks for this list - I recognised some of the titles but there were so many I didn't that I wondered whether they were available in NZ. Half an hour on the library's catalogue said they are and I've simply missed them. I've come home today with the Kate Pullinger and looking forward to many more.

  3. Vishy* Anyone who is published here may be nominated for this award. The books simply have to be published in English or French or be a translation into English or French. And only publishers may nominate titles, from their own houses. No other restrictions, they're just looking for the best.
Thanks for your interest. There is a lot of good Canadian literature out there if you know where to look.

  4. Cat* It's nice to know Canadian titles can be found there. I haven't read the latest nominees but you can see by my starred ratings I really enjoy most of those I read. I look forward to your thoughts on Pullinger's books and any others you read. And I'd be happy to post links to any reviews of these books that you may write.
