Paradise by Toni Morrison
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
The Red and the Green by Iris Murdoch
Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky
Sarah Thornhill by Kate Grenville
The Wandering Falcon by Jamil Ahmad
Red Sorghum by Mo Yan
Jazz by Toni Morrison
The Fable by William Faulkner

Comments, reading suggestions, links to reviews, or requests for brief reviews are always welcomed.

  1. If you like Purple Hibiscus you should also read Half of a Yellow Sun by Aidichie. It's just great. I also thoroughly enjoyed Paradise. I like your list. Good luck.

  2. Crime and Punishment! I really need to read that one, soon. I've owned it for, I don't know, 10 years? Eesh. I think The Brothers Karamazov is going to be my big Russian book of the year, though. (I try to do one a year - Anna Karenina a few years ago, then War and Peace, then The Idiot, etc.). Good luck with the challenge - glad you're joining us! Can't wait to see what you think of all these. :)
