Results of 10 hours of blogging today:
1.Put up buttons with links to my four latest reading challenges: Southern, Four Months, Summer, and What an Animal II.
2.Updated my Goodreads boxes so there are no more blank spots.
3.Wrote and posted my Spring Thing Reading Challenge wrap up which ended today. Lots of good reading recommendations in that post.
4.Visited lots of blogs, including a few new ones, bookmarked some (because my reader is full), left comments. Got lost looking at all the new changes on the front pages of some of the blogs I went to.
5.Created Google alerts, had never even heard of them before. I made the three sugggested; name, url, and blog name. Thay are now emailing me with posts from a blog I visited and left comments on today. !? *edit: My son just came home and explained that it's probably because she put my blog url in one of her posts. I can live with that.
6.Went through the rigamarole of applying to technorati and was informed that that part of technorati wasn't working right now, try again late. I'm not impressed but I may try again.
7.Applied to list my blog with BlogCatalogue. They'll let me know in a couple of days.
8.Spent too much time reading how I could improve my blog according to the Website reader which gave me a rating of 87. Couldn't understand a flippin word. And yes, I clicked on the links and read what the experts said too. I left a question but I'll be surprised if I get an answer.
9.Wrote an "elevator pitch" about my blog, one of the mini challenges.
10. Found out what those little pictures are called, avicon and gravatar. Could not understand the instructions to place them on my blog though.
That's 18 hours total in two days spent on Bloggiesta...ole.
Thank you to Natasha at Maw Books Blog for hosting and cheering us on.
On my way to bed now, with a serious case of numb-bum.
You had a good weekend. I signed up for Google Alerts but haven't found them to be very useful and rarely even bother to look at them anymore. I hope they work better for you.
ReplyDeleteGood job! Social Media Firehose does a much better than Google Alerts
